From Stromness drive to Kirkwall and follow signs for South Ronaldsay/Burwick (A961).
From St. Margaret’s Hope/Gills Bay ferry take the A961, then turn right to Burwick. Follow this road passing fuel station and take the next right (sign posted Sandwick). The single track road heads towards the bay then turns sharply uphill. You will see West Shaird straight ahead on your right.
